What are some common problems a poverty stricken person may have in a developing nation and a developed nation.

ex. developing nation = Africa, Cuba, (third world countries)

developed nation = Canada, USA, Australia ("Superpowers")

  1. The two main issues concerning Africa are corruption and disease, like AIDS. You cannot have a well functioning society when a quarter of the population has a life ending disease.  You cannot have a well-functioning society where there rampant governmental corruption and ill-defined property rights.

    Then some of the minor issues are the IMF and their Structural Adjustment Programs (SAP's), which are doing more harm than good.  

    The main issue with developed nations is energy.  Developed countries need oil to maintain their standard of living.  Coming up with cheaper alternatives has to eventually happen.  


  2. Getting good medical care. You spend a lifetime saving only to spend your life-savingss on costly hospitalizations, treatments and medications which may or may not even work.
