Common to wear boardshorts at beach or pool?

is it? i thought it was for surfing only, but but i saw someone wearing them at the beach.

At the lake, they're all I wear. Beach, fishing, wakeboarding. Unless I'm doing something competitive at the pool or beach, boardshorts seem perfectly normal.

The guy swimming in Galveston bay in Jockey briefs was a little off for my taste.  But yeah, boardshorts are everywhere.

About the only reason I can think of for not wearing boardshorts involves an xgf with a hot tub. I can't tell you what we were wearing, but I can tell you it didn't involve any sort of fabric.

I'm all for boardshorts. Seeing an aging, english snowbird at a Florida beach in a speedo 3 sizes too small isn't something I relish. If it looks like a wookie in boardshorts, it isn't going to be any easier to look at in the alternatives.

i dont think it is to uncommon. Attractive really. I recommend you get some if you dont have any already. They are VERY comfortable!! :)

i see girls wearing them allot, they are mostly the sporty/tomboyish girls which is cool, because boys percieve you as more fun than just s**y.

more often at a beach, probably not at a pool

Where I live, both guys and girls wear board shorts at the beach, surfing, swimming, etc.    Girls will wear the girl style (shorter) or wear long ones over their swimsuit.  Then for sunning they have the option of taking them off.   A lot of suits are made with three pieces - bikini top, bikini bottom, and matching board shorts.
