Commonwealth Bank Series: Xavier Doherty fears http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750’s resurgence in fourth ODI – Cricket News Update
Xavier Doherty believes that the Australians will be tested in the fourth One-Day International of the Commonwealth Bank Series, which will be played at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday, February 12 against India.
The off-spinner fears an Indian backlash in the match, considering the defeat that they suffered in the first encounter at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on February 5. Advising the Aussie not to take the Indians lightly, Doherty said, “India will be pretty
chuffed with themselves after Melbourne. They have a very solid batting and quite a few key players in their line-up.”
Australians are yet to taste defeat in the ongoing series, but the Aussie had to strive hard to win the match at Perth against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 on February 10. Batting first the hosts posted 231 while the visitors fell just five runs short of the target. The Lankans
put up a great fight only to lose the match in the final over.
Doherty admitted that the Kangaroos got a bit complacent in the match. The bowler urged the Australian batters to play with more responsibility, so the bowlers have a bigger total to defend.
Doherty said, “We had set very high standards in the first game. We did drop our guards down (at Perth). It put them on a bit of roll but we are pretty happy to take points. We didn't quite nail down the match but to get the result we wanted was great. With
231 on the total, you are not going to win every game.”
The match between the two cricketing giants kicks-off at 03:20 GMT. Both sides have adopted a rotation policy and thus they may draft in some younger fresher faces into their teams.
