Question:

Communication/Business job in Italy?

I recently studied abroad in Florence. I will be graduating this year and definitely want to return to work in Italy. I am a communication major with a business applications minor. Where could I possibly find a job? I don't want to just go over there and nanny because I have a college education so I want to make use of it! Is it too early to start e-mailing companies about possible work if i'm graduating in May? any websites?

  1. It's going to be VERY hard for you to get a job in Italy if you are not from the European Union. So yes, you should start ASAP to e-ail to different companies and find out if they would be willing to sponsor you as an employee, but most likely you won't find anyone to say yes since they have to be able to prove that there is no other EU citizen that qualifies for their job. What you can do is to apply for an internship, and after you complete the internship successfully, someone might be willing to go out on a limb for you. Another possibility is to get a CELTA degree and then go as an English teacher. A third option is to go over as a student (do a 1-year course or go as an auditing student) for one year and that should givie you time to find something. If nothing happens, maybe you'll find an Italian man at which point you can get married and stay as long as you like!
