my 5 year old girl is about to attend school for the first time,

i am worried that not enough time is dedicated to communicative skills, i was looking for a part time / evening or weekend option to help her with her difficulty , would also consider private tuition by a qualified professional in this feild,

she has a low score within the spectrum and i believe she would benefit from a one on one or small classroom environment

  1. There are many ways to help your child. The best thing to do is to phone the National Autistic Society's helpline. They will be able to give you advice on where the best tried and tested help is and what sort of help would benefit your child. Good luck.

  2. PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) is a visual approach to developing language and communication.

Not only is it beneficial in developing expressive and receptive language, it also enables the child to initiate communication.

It plays to the visual strengths that are common in those on the spectrum.

I wish you and your daughter all the best.
