Communication w/ b/f while i'm in Italy..?

i know i can call from payphone, write him letters, and email him while he's here in america and i travel to italy... but is there another way i can communicate with him? is there a cellular phone i can use that i can call and/or text him while i'm in italy and he's in america?

When you get to Italy, buy a calling card there. They're really cheap (mine was about 5 Euro for, I think, 100 minutes). You'll have to call on either a hotel phone or a pay phone. I don't think you can call on a cell phone, but I could be wrong.

Unless you are from Japan you can bring your own cellphone with you and buy a SIM card in Italy... I recommend Wind cuz it's cheaper to calling somewhere outside Italy, somewhere around 0.1 euro per minute. I used it the last time when i was in italy it works perfectly.
