  1. hey carli, either me been stupid but i coulnd'nt figure out how to answer your question on my question so adding it on here...

It depends where abouts ur doing ur selection,i did mine at glencourse only did it 2 weeks ago..My tips would be while you are there dnt mess about,if u give it 100% u will pass know problem..try your hardest, even if u are not the best at something give it ur all, they look alot at that.

When you do ur team tasks scream ur head off dnt be shy,u are gettin graded on it.

You will make lots friends up there, everyone is in the same boat,i did not like gettin up at 515 but should get used to that lol..Unfortunatly there is alot sitting and waitng around.Dont forget to dress smart for interview some girls did not in my group,it did not create good impression.id advise taking grament carrier,as you dnt have time to iron b4 ur interview.(although u get time on night before)

In regards to your interview, they ask you questions about urself. Nothing major, then ask you about your job choices e.g where u go for training how long, the duties involved etc i only had one job choice so easier for me.By that point you have either passed or failed anyway so just try be ur self. From the moment you get there you are been interviewed, show them how much you want it.

U do a test about what u know about the army but score dnt matter i did **** still passed lol,(think need to know that stuff before go into phase one.) its the generade test you need to concerate on,as that counts but its easy aslong as pay attention.

I think i have gone on for abit too long,Good Luck..

If need to do anything else just let me know..

  2. Go with the change  Take as much training as you can get and set yourself up for when you get out of the military. It really pays!

  3. Go with the change - lots of good info in #2 & #3 postings...

  4. First, you do what you feel is best for you.

I am ex-military and served as a Radioman. This is going to be long, so prepare yourself.

I started in a message center, boring and all I did was type all day. My perfect job that I waited in delayed entry for by theroy was great; but it did not make me want to come to work each day. I transfered to the comms department and it was the best decision I could have made. I did not know it at the time; I often thought was I making the right choice. But each day was different, each problem was unique. It actually trained me for life after the military. I NEVER regreted that choice looking back. But in the midst of it all, I was unsure of my decision.

If you get into comm now, make each duty station a different spin on the job you will become well rounded. There are always options at the next duty station, or even the same duty station. In fact, in a 2 year duty abroad I learned 3 MOS's.

After 6 years in the service I left, refined my skills even more with college courses and certifications, I embraced that comms change everyday, there is always a new technology out there to learn. But it was not the jobs that defined me, it was how I embraced them, learned all that I could learn, left no stone unturned.

I started in 1977 (yes I am old) and after more than 30 years still love what I do for a living, it has done me well. The point is the job is what you make it. It is as intresting as you make it. The job does not make a man, the man makes the job.

  5. could be a good change.
