Communism has been a total failure in both practice and theory, so why do people still advocate it?

Communism has been a disastrous failure in practice, one can only hope people never have the misfortune to have communism inflicted upon them again. However, communism also spectacularly fails in theory; it is a total and utter economic disaster. Several notable Economists (Hayek and Von Mises etc) have refuted the miserable ideology that is communism. The economic calculation problem is a manifest example of communism’s failure in theory. Moreover, Marx’s Labour Theory of Value is fundamentally flawed at its core (http://rkba.org/libertarian/isil/pamphlets/pam-16.txt).

communism is not flawed. the stalins and the maos are the ones who are flawed and have given communism a bad name. almost all communist countries have been interfered with by some outside force, even Cuba.

as a theory it works perfectly, and if done the RIGHT way would be the best type of society to have.

Communism is the only hope for the really downtrodden people without any hope of coming up in the society dominated by the bourgeoisie.But the problem is communism cannot survive without poverty in a country,as the riches and comfort once become available to  the poor it will make them amnesic and there wont be any followers for communism. So communism will last only till the underdeveloped country starts developing and once developed it cannot survive.Thus communism is not the ultimate answer to the problems in any country .

Communism is a beautiful picture which can never be realized, so people can be lured easily. But once become a member of that party you can't leave it. As other political parties they also earn their living & power. So these communists don't acept the failure of this type of 'ism'' throughout the world.
