Is there any signs, symbols, relationships to Communism in Fyodor Dostoevsky's novel Crime and Punishment? If so, which parts and how does Communism connect to the novel?

Thanks

  1. As far as I remember, there are no mentions of communism there. Some sort of religious idealism instead. Their appearances are alike indeed, but sources and reasons are completely different. Furthermore, that example of communism you've mentioned and also  the principle or absolute liberty, which is close to communism, are unacceptable to Dostoevsky, if that is what you ask.

  2. People (myself for one) would be more willing to answer your question if it was not blatantly asked in the form of a teacher's prompt.  Read the book; it is a great one.  Learn a little bit about communism if you need to.  Theb do your own homework.
