Question:

Community Service Hours? I Need Some Help Since I'm an International!

Actually I just knew about this community service thing. Although I consider myself lucky because I really did some community service in my high school years.

I used to be in a street team who'd sell vouchers for 2 dollars, approximately and the money you spend would go into the Dubai Charity fund so it can be spent on buying food for fasting poor families during the month of ramadan.

Also I volunteered to the same charity institute and the same team as to hand out bottles of cold water for people who're stuck in the traffic on the way home when the time to break the 13 hour fast of a day in the month of ramadan had came.

So it'd be a total of 2 hours a day for 30 days for 4 years, is that the way it is calculated or not? Because if so it is 240 and I seriously can't believe it.

  1. Yes that sounds ok, as long as you were not paid for that work. There are a lot of people who do that many hours and more, it should help if you need to get into certain schools, though typically they want a contact for the community service you did so you might have to be able to provide that.

  2. Yes, that's usually the way it is calculated. 240 hours over 4 years isn't something unbelievable, that actually adds up to about 10 days worth of work, which over 4 years is pretty normal and credible. :]

  3. What are you hiding behind that mask, my little Jihadist?
