Question:

Community Service for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority?

I have done a lot of community service, I am now a sophomore in college and I have only been able to do a semester of community service during my freshman year so far because I had to make the complete transition to understanding the dynamics of college life. Right before that, during high school up until my graduation I continuously performed community service activities on my own. I'm going to continue volunteering as much as I can but is this a sufficient amount of community service so far to appeal to Delta Sigma Theta Sorority?

  1. I can not recall any specific amount of service hours needed. I have heard of some chapters requiring at least 200 hours (with proof) or at least 2 years of continuous service (with proof). I suggest that you continue doing your community service. PLEASE KNOW that DST is highly committed to serving the community and those few that are chosen have shown this commitment.
