  1. well it depends, if you have the money then 4 yr at a uc, but if you dont and you end up getting all loans then i would suggest doing a transfer.

    personal experience from UCSD

Tuition was about ~9,000/yr, dorms( cheapest around ~8,500/yr), books ~1,500/yr, off campus apts are cheaper though if you share and have enough roommates it can be up to half of dorms. if you are within a certain radius you can get free transportation (university shuttles) im not sure how it is in other UCs but thats how it is in UCSD

im not getting much financial aid so instead doing a cc and then transfer

hope it works out, good luck

  2. If you could go straight to UC.. What are you waiting for?!

    UC is definitely more expensive.

Bright side is that you'll be getting a bit better education and it will for sure look way better on your resume.

    And way more good times.

Most people (like myself) don't have the option of going straight to UC. Most people (like myself) have to do our general education through community college and hope that our applications for UC's get accepted while busting our a*ses in JC.

    So if you've been accepted..

    UC. Do it!!

    =)

  3. UC trust me... If you have the money, even if money is tight, go to the UC.... You're experience in college is better served at a UC. But if you don't want to go to a particular UC, I would recommend a Cal State because they are inbetween. Cal State Fullerton is almost like a UC, in fact they might make it a UC soon so look into those schools too. Community colleges are fine, but if you get the chance, go to a 4 year school.

    ~~DREW!!~~

  4. If you are simply looking for the "college experience" then a 4 year school would be for you.  For a good majority of people, money is tight.  If you, or your parents, can afford it easily then go for the college experience and go to a 4 year school.  However, a community college is not a bad way to start out.  The education you receive is no different than at a larger school.  Both kinds of schools have very qualified and educated instructors.  The qualifications for an instructor at a community college are no different than those at a 4 year college.  An advantage of a community college is that class size is smaller.  I have sat through lecture classes at a 4 year school and have had 95 students in the class.  Compare that to a community college with 35 students in the class.  In which one will you get more individual attention and time to ask questions?
