Ok in the fall im starting my freshman year at community college. I already have 32 hours of college credit from courses i took while in high school. I want a degree in business maybe like accounting or finance. Is there a possibility to transfer after only the first semester at community college to a four year university?? I would like to attend The University of Texas at Austin. Would i be behind by missing the first semester? Or should i go the whole year at community college and go to university the next year? I have most of my basics out of the way also

  1. do the whole year of college then go to the university this will be the best option for you. though u did most of the course in your school but studying in a college is altogether a different experience and a learning curve whatever u decide all the best.

  2. The University of Texas' website has all of the information you need, click the link below for their transfer policy.

  3. I would suggest you go the whole year to the community college, and begin a fresh new year at the Univ. So you won't be behind a semester, and wont miss out on anything important, and I would go to speak with a counselor at the community college you will be attenting this semester,to talk about this, and what your plans are,so that way they can give an advice that may help you out alittle more, and would be able to give you more suggestions/options about what you can do.....I hope this helped...: )

  4. Alright the BEST advice that I can give to you is that you either wait and get some kind of degree from one school even if it's just your AA/AS/BA...then transfer....They will generally accept a degree or just have you maybe fill in 3 more classes that fit their requirements (really not that big of a deal) Or send an email or call the Advising office and ask them what credits from your school that they will accept and what they will not accept.  Also if they do give approval to some of your upcoming classes get it in writing. Colleges are necessary to entend your educational efforts however the student needs to remember that is it also a business....and they like to make money.
