When doing community service in a hospital, what do they usually make you do?

  1. they can make you pick up patients to be admitted or discharged, send specimens to the laboratory, send paper works or charts from one unit to another.  its a very light work but worthwhile.


  2. That would depend on each hospital policy.  Your best bet would be to contact the hospital that you would like to volunteer at.

I was a volunteer coordinator in a hospital and I usually had people doing community service to work downstairs in the laundry.  It was hot and hard work.  I gave the other jobs like running specimens, rocking babies, passing out magazines,sandwiches,or coffee in waiting rooms,transporting patients,etc.  to people who genuinely wanted to be there for a rewarding experience or to students who needed patient contact.
