Question:

Community service in korea?

I'm a 14 year old girl in Korea that goes to an international school. Over my summer vacation (which is at the same time as it is in America) I plan to do some community service, but I kind of have a language barrier. I'm terrified of approaching people in Korean, and people assume that I speak fluent Korean because I look Korean. I'd like to know if there would be any kind of community service I can do in ENGLISH. Not so much teaching English to little kids and seniors, because in order to do that, I need to be good at Korean and have decent teaching skills.. neither of which I have... Would anyone know if I might be able to volunteer at the International Department at big hospitals like the Samsung Medical Center?? Or stuff like that.. I really want to avoid doing it in Korean!!

Help ?!

  1. I'm in Korea as well. I know that the U.S. military base always advertises for volunteers. Not sure of the procedure, but maybe you could check it out. I would think that there are a lot of people that stay on post during the summer (a lot arriving as well). Visit the web site and see.
