Commuter Bike?

I want a good commute bike, a road bike. I'm not a fan of the hybrids but I want one thats light and durable and will carry me to school and back. I like the k2 Enemy and the Trek Portland. Also I would like something cheaper than both of those if anyone can think of anything

  1. Have you tried a Cannondale T2000? Older ones with full Ultegra were the best. New ones have a mix of Shimano, but nothing less than 105. The T800 is a cheaper touring frame with lesser, but still servicable Shimano stuff.

The joy of a super-stiff Cannondale frame with relaxed, compliant geometry is a very well kept secret. The AL frame absorbs all the high-frequency vibration while the geometry soaks up the big stuff. So it's stiff at the pedal, tracks like a dream and is comfortable to boot.

Go to CL and find a 2000-2001 T2000. I've seen them for around $650.
