Commuter motorcycle. What's the best bike for my drive to work?

I live less than 20 miles from work. The drive is a combination of stop and go and highway. I've ridden mostly dirt bikes but really like the Yamaha Warrior (1700cc's). I'd also like to hit the back roads once in awhile and tear up the countryside... all on paved roads. Is the Warrior too big for a daily commuter? and Why?

  1. I'd stay with something less than 750cc.  And depending on how much "stop" there is in your drive, you may want to stay away from the 600 sportbikes.

The best would be a street bike, which offers a more upright riding position and (typically) better view.

  2. Any MC can be used used commuting.  The Warrior with its Cruiser style and power is a nice choice.  Your personal preferences will decide if it is the MC for what you need.  If you are interested in carving the canyons, not just cruising, you may want to consider a sports bike.
