I'm looking for a nice town or village in Berks, Bucks or Surrey from where you can get to a London terminal in up to 30 minutes by train. I'm in Maidenhead - 20 to 25 minutes to/from Paddington in rush hours. Any other ideas?

  1. Twickenham, Teddington, Chiswick, New Malden.....there are loads of places to choose from.

  2. We considered moving to Surbiton (which is in Surrey). Its got a fast connection up to London Waterloo which I think is something like 20 minutes. Its a nice town with some ok pubs and restaurants. Its also by the Thames and only a short walk to Kingston which is great for shopping. The housing stock is good - there are lots of period properties, with some new builds around as well. If you fancy the Good Life - go for it! We would have moved there if it hadn't been for my partner taking a job outside of London.

  3. Amersham, Buckinghamshire (Marylebone 38 minutes),

Oxted, Surrey (London Bridge/Victoria 35 minutes), Woldingham, Surrey (London Bridge/Victoria 30 minutes),

Richmond, Surrey (Waterloo 20 minures + Underground District Line to central London and London Overground to North London).
