I would like to know which bus line(s) are easily accessible to NYC from Weehawken. Are there any other buses that go towards lower Manhattan or they are all going through the Port Authority? Do you know when the last bus returns to Weehawken at night from NYC (Port Authority)?

Based on what I found on the New Jersey Transit information, the bus only seems to stops every 20 minutes from Weehawken to the Port Authority. However, I read on the net about the gypsy buses that stop every 5 minutes in Weehawken on their way to NYC.

Are these gypsy buses safe? Is it true that in Weehawken the gypsy buses stop only at East Blvd? If not, which other streets do they stop on their way from Weehawken to NYC?

Sorry, I have so many questions... I will shortly move to NYC area and I am trying to figure out how public transportation works from Weehawken. I cannot afford to live in Hoboken or Jersey City.

  1. You should check out Trip123's transit trip planner as it plans a trip from any origin address to a destination address in the NYC metro area with arrival and "leave" times.  Sorry, but I do not have any personal info on the gypsy buses so I put a link to a Village Voice article that has more info.
