Question:

Commuting to work: Need good bag for work clothes.?

I will soon be riding a bike to work for cost reasons. It's about 3 miles one way. I need a bag or something similar that I can put my work clothes into so that they do not get wrinkled or crushed on the way to work and that will fit onto a small rear rack. I cannot ride with the work clothes on or I will get them sweaty and stinky. Also, I will be parking my bike inside my works stockroom due to no bike rack outside, when closing at night company policy (reasonably) states that they have to check any and all bags you bring in to ensure that no one is stealing company product. This goes for all employees. Even though I know they trust me, this will have to be done. Therefore the bag should not have multiple pockets to minimize the time it takes to check the bag. Most of us are ready to split as quick as possible when it's time to go and I'd hate to hold everyone up, including myself. Any suggestions?

  1. Just fold your clothes into a small bag with a piece of cardboard or something rigid to prevent wrinkling.  A small gym bag will do.  You could also look at a bike shop or catalog for panniers made to hold clothes.
