I want to buy a bike so I can commute to work every day. I was told that a hybrid would be a good option. I don't want to spend ton amounts of money on a bike so I was wondering if anyone had an idea of what brand of bike I should buy. I don't want to spend more than 350.00 on it. I might want to get into cycling in the future but for now, I just need it to commute. Thanks in advance for your input.

  1. Its a good idea to commute to work on a bike. There are many benefits but you already know that, so i'll just make my suggestion and place a link for you to see if you like this bike. Remember if you ever want to upgrade, you can always resell a decent bike alot easier than the department store junk. Specialized, Trek, Gary Fisher, Giant, and cannondale make great bikes. Look at this one. It's like right in the range you want to spend and is versatile. http://www.specialized.com/bc/SBCBkModel...

  2. I think that $350 is plenty for a commuter bike. You might even be able to spend less. Go to a Trek or Specialized store (not Target or Sears - and don't let them try and sell you something you don't need).. and make sure the bike has fenders on it to protect your clothes.

  3. you must have a friend who it bike savvy,  have them if they exist assist you picking out a bike or fixing up a used pile of bike parts.  Or build it yourself after learning how.
