am i crazy for doing it? is it gonna be the death of me? Im sick and tired of sitting in traffic for 2 hours a day when it could be cut in half on a motorcycle.. and also where i work (culver city) parking is horrible so a bike would be nice. I have no riding experience. im about 230 and 6'1" i do have alot of motorsports experience in driving a car and driven stick in many of my cars.. but i know a bike is different.. what would be a good sports bike to start with? or should i stick to my car taking 2 hours a day and taking + 30 minutes to find a place to park?

  1. Ok a couple of things 1) More people should ride bikes and the govt should launch a campaign to encourage it.  They take less fuel, less materials to build and take up less space and make less emissions.  How about giving anyone who buys a bike a tax credit???  Or free license plates??  2) Check on insurance before you buy!!   I did and found some companies wont insure a sportbike. 3) You can ride a bike no sweat- just take a safe riders course ( trust me there are things they can teach you you never thought about) and use common sense.  I would recommend a 600-750 cc.  Some good choices are the Honda CBR 600, Kawasaki Ninja 600s , Suzuki GSF and GSXR.  Just find a bike that fits you well- not all bikes are created equal.  AND MAKE  SURE IT WILL NOT REQUIRE HIGH OCTANE GAS!!  You are about my size so a 250 is worthless ( and actually dangerous in freeway conditions- no acceleration to get outta the way if you have to)  Good luck!!!
