Compac Presario V2000 DVD CD read problem

Question

I have compac presario V2000 and having problem DVD-RW drive. It does not read CD. When I click from drive directory then the contents shows empty. I still can read DVD-movie, Presario-driver-CD. The device manager shows working property with "HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GWA-4080N".There might be I accidentally uninstalled something *3**filter** software but I doupt it was reason for this problem. Is there any reason suddenly stop working only read CD. I am sure the CD contents is good. problem is presario DVD-RW-drive. Is there something require specific software to make the HDW works property more than drivers?
