Question:

Company drivers?

Do you think that all drivers who drive company cars (cable guys, construction workers...) should have phone numbers on the back of their truck or van (like some semis do) to call if they're driving like crazies?

I have been cut off and pulled out in front of more times by workers in cable company vans more times than I can count. I would love to call their company and let them know how they're driving...

Today I almost got hit by a construction worker in a truck, because he fully ran a stop sign without even slowing down. Grr.

  1. Yes I agree with you 100% and I too have almost been run over by these crazy drivers.

  2. unfortunately, few of us can remember their phone numbers long enough to pull over and report them via a mobile.  I suggest a pad strapped lightly to the right thigh, where you can quickly scribble the details, and deal with it later.  meanwhile, stay alert.

  3. Many company vehicles have those "How am I driving?" stickers on the back...In which case note the vehicle number, date and time then make the call...On highways, notify the state patrol or highway patrol about any vehicle that's causing a hazard...You'll need to know the license number, direction of travel, date and time...I'm not sure how your particular town handles such cases, but give the local police dept a call and ask...Don't ever confront an errant driver yourself.

    All the best.

  4. Most of them have a posted sign of the business name. Often that does have a phone number or it can easily be found. If you call the business they should be able to track down who the offender is. There should be some sort of documentation in the office so that they know where their vehicles are. Report it directly to office or if you are close enough and ticked off could stop by for the morning go get em ... talks! "hey, Be careful out there!"
