how would I figure a gear system on exsisting rollers to accomendate the weight actual weight of our vessels using the already purchased rollers?

You haven't given nearly enough data for me to give you any kind of guidance, but I think you might start by considering whether the bearings or bearing surfaces of the 1500 pound rollers could be expected to stand the loads presented by some system introducing yet greater mechanical advantage. In many cases, one of the chief differences between a lower and higher rated type of handling equipment, is simply the difference in bearings that are included. Inexpensive ball bearings are replaced with higher capacity caged ball bearings, or still higher capacity roller or needle bearings, and in the most rugged designs, with sleeves, bushings or plain bearings. And often, at the bearing points, the metal of the bearing support has to be thicker, or heat treated for higher load capacities, to handle the additional stress of heavier loads, so that it is not a simple matter to upgrade the bearings of lighter duty models of material handling equipment by simply exchanging light duty bearings for better ones.

    This is just one example of the kinds of engineering details that would have to be checked, to begin to answer your top level question.
