  1. You cannot collect unemployment as long as you are employed.  If you choose to leave, you can collect unemployment, but unemployment pays you 2/3 of your former salary.  That said, you would lose your benefits as well.

    Of course, that is a decision only you can make.


  2. Yes, because the job you are being offered carries a substantial pay differential, you are not obligated to accept it and can claim UI instead.  Make sure that your employer states that your reason for leaving is due to a position elimination.  Good luck.

    It depends upon whether your employer reports to the Unemployment office that your job was eliminated. check with your HR dept.

  4. Take the job.......look for another......you will loose your benefits and a substantial reduction in wages......keep it until you find another.....
