Compare; Canon power shot A520 digital camera to the best digital camera availible in electronics stores?

In a few words, what do you think of this camera?

Does it take good pictures and currently, approximately how close to cutting edge technology is this camera ?

Does it have a lot of mega pixels? Compared to the best camera you can get in most electronics stores, how good is it ?

Considering it's been out for 3 1/2 years and is discontinued, it wasn't a bad camera in it's day.  It has only 3.9 MP and a very small screen.   It has a street price of 109.99.   I have had the A540 for over 2 years and have been very happy with it.  If you have a chance to get that camera for only about $100, it isn't too bad of a deal, but by paying more, you would get more recent technology.  You can read about it here---

Look at some newer Powershots.  They are very good cameras.
