  1. Well, wind energy is not widely used right now and depends on wind blowing...no wind, no energy. Similar to bio-fuels...no  crops, no bio-fuels.

Non-renewable resources are only good if available. When their gone, their gone. Plus, they really do pollute the earths environment.

We need to use all energy available and not depend on any one resource.  And as an added note right now solar energy is leading the production to wind energy. But that is still only a  fraction of our energy source. Our government doesn';t want to put too much effort into this subject. Once the solar panels have developed to collect all rays of the sun and not just one type, I am headed to solar so I can also charge my future EV (still not available to us normal consumers) and EV motorbike. (which is available now at www.evtamerica.com)

  2. Wind energy is intermittent, therefore can only supply supplemental energy to the grid.  A coal plant or nuclear plant is always on, and output rarely varies.  A gas plant and hydro are easily turned up or down - that's why they are used to balance the power grid.  Wind energy is great but will never supply a majority of our power, since it fluctuates too much.  Wave / tidal energy could provide continuous output on a pretty consistent basis, but of course you have to live near the ocean to get it.  I think modern nuclear is our only viable option, no carbon, stable power source.  Now if we can just keep the nutjobs away from them.

  3. its compared to, like living next to  the Altamont Speedway and  Death Valley, here in California.
