Question:

Compare and contrast: Cheating. Ted Stevens and John Edwards?

Ted Stevens was indicted for not reporting gifts (accepting bribes) made to him by a huge oil company in Alaska, with whom he had significant business dealings, and in his post in Congress, he was able to steer lucrative government contracts to. He "cheated" us Taxpayers.

John Edwards committed adultry on his wife who is battling cancer.

When news of Stevens broke, Dems and libs flamed him.

When news of Edwards broke, Repubs and cons flamed him.

I think both men need to be called hypocrites for when they did, but what do you think? It's clear one has political implications (Stevens) and they both have moral implications, so which example of cheating is "worse"?

  1. Edwards cheated on his wife.

    Stevens cheated us all.

What one man does in the privacy of his bedroom is his own business.  But Stevens screwed America, out in the open.

Comparing each version of "cheating", Stevens is worse.  His indiscretion happened on a much larger scale, over a longer period of time, and hurt more people.
