These are means by which a plant moves water and other nutrients like sucrose throughout the plant. Diffusion is liquids moving from an area of high concentration to an area of lower concentration. Osmosis, another form of moving substances, can be the same only the difference being in some cases cell walls and other barriers prevent any solids but allow liquids, like a filter or screen.
