  1. Primary mycoses are an iniitial infection that cause disease.  Opportunistic mycoses result after a change in the state of the host (often a primary infection).  A good example is a yeast infection.  The yeast is part of your normal microbiota (they normally live in/on you, but they normally don't make you sick.  However if you take antibiotics that will kill off some of the normal bacterial microbiota - that lets the yeast increase in numbers and they can now make you sick (yeast infection, thrush).
