  1. Men were the head of the house and women were doormats.

  2. Well There are obviously greater equality between the two sexes of then and now. Even though we have resolved everything such as wage gaps we can not deny that women of the modern ear enjoy more rights then those of the 1900's. The 1900's still held that woman's place is to be compliant to her husband and to have self control. Men like wise must have control over his emotion. That is not the case today. However the people of then tended to rely on their own power and strength and they were often more solitude and community driven because of the inability to communicate vary far. Nowadays we are more dependent of technology, thought our health and life spans has dramatically increased because of it.

  3. We are the same people as then. Women have been granted a bit more equality but it appears that much more time is required to overcome the profound ignorance of the average male human.

Equality is a human concept not a physical one. Granting consideration to others, women, people of color or differing physical characteristics, requires brain development not yet exhibited by many males.

Women and others must keep trying so that eventually the average male can develop enough to have the self confidence to grant equality.

Are women equal? Yes. Do many males recognize this? No.

The more confidence males gain with development the more largess they can exhibit.

    Wish us luck!

  4. For the last 50 years, people have been living a life greatly different from those of a hundred years prior. The automobile, telephone, and electric availability has caused a major change in life. 100 years ago people lived closer to nature. Life spans were shorter and ailments were common.  Men and women depended on each other to survive which today is not necessarily so.  s*x was not viewed as pleasure but the means of reproducing and not not openly discussed. Women had many more children making her main duty child rearing.  Today, women have few children and child rearing is mostly considered a part time activity.  Men today are more likely to be a part of the child rearing process. Then the roles of male and female were well defined but roles are not so defined today.  Then divorce was rare and shameful but today it is the norm.  As Jim before me mentioned, today a man speaks of equity of women without believing it whereas then, men spoke of unequity but knew different.
