  1. In the parliamentary government the President has just a celebrating function (he is present at meetings, celebrations etc.). He has veto power, but he will never use it because each law had already passed through House, Senate and Prime Minister's (or what in the US is called Speaker of the House) Cabinet. The Prime Minster is the most important figure of the government and he appoints the cabinet.

In the presidential government, the President is the most important, he is the commander in chief of the army, and has an important veto power. He also appoints the cabinet.

  2. The major difference is the prime minister must keep a majority behind him.her or bye bye.
