Compare and contrast the schools of thought confucius daoism, legalism, and buddhism?

What are the basic beliefs? What influence did each have over the people of China? Who were the leaders of each of these beliefs? Answer in paragraph form please. Answer all questions asked also.

  1. all chinese philosophy have this in common - to better society. thus, the underlying philosophy of each thought is the approach by which society and people would be made better.

    confucius believed in the merit system which became a dominant way of thinking in china. it basically supporteed th view that the wise must rule and hence, provided legitimacy to the emperor's rule.

    legalists believed laws must provide order in society and that any order is more favorable than chaos.

    buddhism seeks attainment of nirvana whereby an individual transcends the materiality of the world and attains perfection distracted from the evils of the world.

    Daoism or Taoism ( the " way " or " path " ) is mostly associated with oneness with nature and the concept of emptiness.
