  1. That is too hard for a Yahoo Answer. You should consult Wikipedia and everywhere else online.

I do know that chimps are bigger and fight among themselves and between groups but bonobos are smaller and fight because they settle differences by having s*x. Really true.

And chimps taste like chicken and bonobos like turkey. That part is a lie.

    :P

  2. bonobos are known to be pansexual they'll have s*x with any member male or female without having a sexuality boundary

they are also known to have s*x 4 times a day male or female

  3. Until quite recently the Bonobo was known more commonly as the Pygmy Chimpanzee (I will refer to this as Chimp from now on). Bonobos are an endangered species and can only be found living naturally on the south bank of the Congo river on the equator within the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Main anatomical and differences in appearance are, Bonobos are smaller and lighter than Chimps, they have relatively longer limbs and are more able to walk upright than Chimps. Bonobos head hair is parted sideways from the centre, a centre parting you could say ! Bonobos feet are more dexterous than Chimps and they will often use their feet in the same way Humans and Chimps do with their hands (feeding, scratching, petting etc.). Bonobos also commonly and frequently display sexual gratification among all group members as a medium for bolstering relationships and as a means to diffuse and reconcile instances of conflict. Unlike the dominant male in Chimp society, Bonobo society is headed by a matriarchal female, who's son (and other sons of leading females) carry the highest rank among all the males. In general, Bonobo society is very egalitarian - more equal, peaceful and less competitive than Chimp society. LEOLUPUS - I AM STILL WAITING FOR YOUR APOLOGY (NO DOUBT IT WAS YOU WHO GAVE ME THAT THUMBS DOWN ?) I WOULD RATHER YOU CONTACT ME AND SETTLE THIS LIKE GENTLEMEN, I HAVE NO INTEREST IN PROLONGING THIS MATTER.

I APOLOGIZE FOR ASSUMING YOU ARE A MAN, I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH APOLOGIZING, SO NOW YOU APOLOGIZE FOR PLAGIARISING MY ANSWER TO THAT TIGER/CHEETAH ENCOUNTER QUESTION WHICH RESULTED IN YOU GETTING BEST ANSWER !!!

  4. This is a chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes):

And this is a bonobo (Pan paniscus):

As you can see, the bonobo is smaller and more slightly-built than the chimp, with a slimmer body and longer, more slender limbs. Chimps can weigh up to 130lb, whilst a bonobo's maximum weight is only around 86lb.

Their social structure is very different. Both live in large groups of males and females, but among chimps males are dominant and among bonobos, females are. Chimps are aggressive and often fight amongst themselves, whilst bonobos are much more peaceful. They settle their differences by having s*x - all members of the group regularly mate with all others, regardless of s*x or age - it could be said that all bonobos are bisexual. Homosexuality has been recorded in chimps, as in most species, but it occurs only at about the same frequency as it does in humans.

EDIT: Nurnord, what makes you think I gave you a thumbs down? It was me who gave you the thumbs up!! I also have no interest in settling anything like gentlemen, since I'm a woman. Awaiting YOUR apology ...

I have no idea what you're taking about re: the tiger/cheetah question. I haven't plagiarised anything - I didn't even read the other answers when I answered that question.

  5. No significant biological differences, my opinion based on what I have seen and read, to warrant separate species classification.  Nothing more than a close population, like the Kodiak.  All the differences are behavioral.  Another facet of a closed population.
