    You need to compare your times now with your previous times.

    Same with hers. She could be getting better, while you could be flat-lining or getting worse.

    For all the hype about competitiveness in athletics, the key is competition with oneself.

    Keep on truckin'. And encourage others to do the same.

    If you want to know for sure, you can go to dyestat.com and click on the rankings calculator. You can compare how much faster you are than the rest of the nation (or at least with the times that are posted). Compare her percentile to your percentile.

  5. I'd say your times may be slightly "better", based on where you'd rank in our league. But, this straight-up comparison might not really reflect whose are more "impressive" - that's really more about who has made the greater improvement.

    Track is a team competition but it's about the individual performance - if someone finishes 10th in a race but runs a pr time that's what counts.
