They seem to be occurring with more intensity and are becoming much more frequent. Examples being the earth quake that devastated parts of China, Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the recent string of Typhoons in the Philippines and even the great Tsunami that hit Indonesia and Thailand in 2004. Whats going on with our weather and the earths climate that is causing this destruction? Even the mighty Mississippi River is flooding states all along the Mid west region of America. Looking for well examined theories on this topic as it will aide me in my research in the causes of these calamities. Thanks for answering. T.am

  1. Scripture proclaims that the present age- the civilization and societies we know today -will terminate in a cascade of unimaginable destruction and violence that will climax at the return of Christ. In the New Testament alone, more than 300 verses refer to these events.

I'm prepared for the thumbs down's:)

  2. If you really look into it, you will find that we don't get more natural disasters now than we did in the past, these things have always happened. We notice them more these days because of global news coverage. Previously when there were earthquakes in China the outside world did not get to see the damage.

As for the Mississippi flooding, the the flat land it is flowing through is what geologists call a flood plain, for good reason!

  3. Natural disasters of any magnitude have always happened with no sign of frequency. The difference is that today we have so much technology and advanced communications with even the most remote parts of the world. Therefore we're always up-to-date on what is happening throughout the planet.

China has always had devastating earthquakes

Katrina was only devastating because it hit a New Orleans; ironically a city not prepared for any kind of flooding, but which has always experienced flooding.

The great tsunami that hit southwest Asia in 2004 was not a first, it was just the most devastating one in recent RECORDED history.

The Mississippi floods every year, this is nothing new

  4. It's called Global Warming.  We need to take care of Mother Earth.  She is giving us warning!

  5. They aren't more frequent, we just have more instrumentation recording them (like earthquakes) and there is a global media network now that reports disasters almost instantaneously.

  6. News reporting has improved.

Not much else has changed, (though populations are

growing a bit more dense, and thus any event has

    greater human impact).
