  1. c. Bicarbonate ion concentration

  2. Okay, so systemic arterial blood is the blood that is oxygenated and going to the body.  Pulmonary arterial blood is the deoxygenated blood that has left the right ventricle and is on its way to the lungs.

      a. o2 content ---No, clearly, pulmonary artery would have less o2 content that arterial blood

      b.  pH  ---No, deoxygenated blood in the pulmonary artery has a lot of CO2 so, we can kind of think of CO2 as being an acid, so pulmonary artery blood should be more acidic (ie lower pH)

    c.  bicarbonate ion conc --Yes, because there is a lot of CO2 in pulm artery blood, there is also a lot of bicarb to help neutralize

    d. Hb conc----No, clearly, the concentration of Hb protein does not vary
