  1. Compare, based on what criteria?

    Natural gas emits carbon and has a finite supply, and is rising rapidly in cost.  Wind is not available as scheduled generation, but is getting cheaper.


  2. Two entirely different methods of electrical generation, and both have their place on the grid.  Wind is of course renewable, intermittent, non-carbon emitting, expensive to build, but, once built, free except for maintenance.  Gas is less expensive to build but you take on the price risk for fuel, provides power when and only when you need it, produces carbon emissions.
