Comparison El Classico - Daniel Alves vs. Sergio Ramos
This is going to be another intense battle as both of them share almost the same style of play. Sergio Ramos is considered to be one of the best attacking full backs in the world and Daniel Alves has the same reputation as well.
While performing for the Brazilian side, Daniel Alves had to prove a point that he was better than the Inter Milan full back and Brazil FIFA World Cup 2010’s sensation Maicon. Daniel Alves was able to do nothing less. He was the one who
came closest to scoring a goal against the Argentinean side in the friendly game as he struck the cross bar in the 29th minute. He was simply flawless whenever he made a run forward and he was nothing less whenever he came back to defend
the ball. He was the one who managed to block Lionel Messi during an extraordinary attack that was being constructed by Sergio Batista’s Argentinean side.
On the other hand, Sergio Ramos has been having ups and downs in his career with Real Madrid. Sometimes he is simply extraordinary but sometimes he lacks concentration while defending. He was in good form when the Spanish side returned
from the FIFA World Cup 2010 but he soon found himself being injured and was left to rest as Jose Mourinho played Arbeloa in his place. However, after his return from the knee injury, Sergio Ramos was just not the same as he was before. He lacked the same
pace and the same defensive skills that he possessed during the FIFA World Cup 2010 and the last year’s Real Madrid campaign.
Jose Mourinho often played Ramos as a centre back as Pepe found himself injured as well and because he lacked pace while playing on the right flank, he performed better as a centre back. He was able to head the ball to clear it for his
side and he was often seen making a move forward just like Gerard Pique. However, he looks a bit lazy while performing for the Los Blancos. He might be the difference between the two sides as David Villa is usually the player who features on the left flank
for the Spanish Champions.
Both these players can make a difference for their team as they are going to be playing on the right side and they will be able to exploit the left backs of the opposing team and both the teams don’t have good left backs. Daniel Alves
is going to be against his fellow Brazilian full back Marcelo who still has to prove a lot while Sergio Ramos is going to be against the Frenchman Eric Abidal.
Both the full backs have the ability to deliver killer balls into the net; however, Sergio Ramos is often seen scoring goals with his perfect headers while Daniel Alves often finds the net as he helps the team from not only the right flank
but also the centre as Gerard Pique and Sergio Busquets give him a good cover at the back.
