Comparison El Classico - Lionel Messi vs. Cristiano Ronaldo
No words can be expressed as in their case actions truly speak louder than words so one will have to watch them on field and get stunned. Both the players are at their best at the moment and both of them can easily say to each other that
they are the best strikers in the Spanish La Liga.
The Real Madrid striker and the former Manchester United sensation Cristiano Ronaldo and the Barcelona man Lionel Messi are in direct competition with each other as both of them are in a race to the top at the moment. Both Cristiano Ronaldo
and Lionel Messi are battling each other in terms of goal scoring as Lionel Messi has found the net 12 times this season while Cristiano Ronaldo has managed to find it 13 times. Despite the fact that Lionel Messi is a goal down on Cristiano Ronaldo, there
is no doubt that both these players are going to be on fire when El Classico kicks off.
Lionel Messi has been in extraordinary form not only for his club but also for the Argentinean side. The young and talented Argentinean maestro managed to find the net against the Brazilian team when they were against them in a friendly
game and it was the Argentinean striker who managed to become the difference maker between the two sides as he stepped up and took his team forward during the dying moments of the game.
On the other hand, Cristiano Ronaldo was against the World Cup winning side Spain in Portugal and even though he did not find the net, the Portuguese captain found himself in amazing form. He managed to trouble the Spanish defence altogether
and even found a goal which was later waved offside because of Luis Nani who tried to head the ball into the net to claim the goal.
Lionel Messi was against an out-of-form Almeria side this week and the Argentinean striker had the opportunity to take his team forward as he scored a hat trick and Barcelona won the game 0-8 away from him recording their biggest away
win this season. On the other hand, Cristiano Ronaldo took the challenge and did exactly what Lionel Messi did. Ronaldo found himself in front as he scored the second goal of the game against Atletic Bilbao and later managed to bag himself a hat trick. Even
though he had the opportunity to score 4 goals as Real Madrid won two penalties during the game, it was still Sergio Ramos who took the first penalty and it was Cristiano Ronaldo who took the second penalty which was won by him during the 90th minute
of the game.
This is definitely going to be a clash of the titans as both of them are often compared to be the best players in the world. Lionel Messi is currently holding the record of scoring the highest number of goals in La Liga, equal to the Brazilian
striker Ronaldo who also scored 47 – equal to Lionel Messi. However, Ronaldo is nothing less than Messi and it’s the attitude that separates both the players from each other as Lionel Messi is considered to be “humble” while Ronaldo is often compared to being
“rude” and “proud.”
