Comparison question to when an elephant runs and a horse runs

ok when i look at an african elephant running, it looks like its speed walking, how come african elephants don't run like a galloping motion like a horse galloping?

  1. Cause they are stubby and big unlike a graceful horse


  2. Elephants are too heavy to gallop.

    Because of their "Graviportal" bone structure they have to have at least 2 feet on the ground at all times.

  3. Because they have different bone structure, every skeleton is similar but also very different at the same time especially between species. Also an Elephant has a lot more weight on it than a horse so it's not as graceful.

  4. Elephants weigh more, they're stockier, they have a different muscular system.  I've never seen a elephant jump a fence.

    However, I've also never seen a horse knock down a tree on a whim.

    They're just built differently.
