  1. I always focus on my short game before any event. 100 yard and in. If you can build confidence in your short game before the event you are more likely to go lower

  2. Start practicing. Begin with your strengths to instill confidence, then identify your weaknesses and work on them.

And you will ALWAYS benefit from practicing your game 100 yards and in - a tight wedge, sand save, or sunk putt can be the difference between winning and losing.

Finally - practice like you play. Don't whack 20 drivers in a row, you never do that on the golf course. Practice your short game with 2 balls and play this game to minimize your misses: Hit 2 shots from inside 100 yards to a green (pitches, chips, sand, flops...whatever)...now take your worst shot and hit both from there. This will program your mind to know that mishits are painful and there are consequences. This will program you to hit the best shot you need to hit.

Hope this helps you, and may all your putts break six inches down.
