Hey I'm looking for the best, most well know Tae Kwon Do schools that focus specifically on competition and Olympic style tournaments. If you know them please tell me. I'm going to transfer to a University by the end of next year so moving to a different area in the USA is not a problem.

  1. The US Tae Kwon Do (WTF) Jr. Olympics and Sr. Nationals were held at Ford Field in Detroit last month.

Here is a list of the most successful schools from that tournament:

2008 U.S. National Championships - Top Club Results

    July 28, 2008

The following clubs, each with 30+ participants, left the 2008 U.S. National Championships with the top overall medal counts. USA Taekwondo would like to thank everyone for their participation at this year's U.S. National Championships and congratulations to all of the winners!

Team NTA (Coppell, Texas) - 31 Gold, 26 Silver, 25 Bronze

    Kil's Taekwondo Center (Dearborn, Mich.) - 27 Gold, 33 Silver, 20 Bronze

Team Champyon (Chicago, Ill.) - 13 Gold, 8 Silver, 3 Bronze

USA Martial Arts (Troy, Mich.) - 8 Gold, 5 Silver, 13 Bronze

World Taekwondo Academy (Maple Grove, Minn.) - 4 Gold, 5 Silver, 12 Bronze

As far as a University though, I would look towards California for the best competition.  Stanford University is have a camp next month.

I personally train and teach at one of the Kil's TKD centers listed above.

    Good luck.
