Stephen Fleming, the coach of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), is confident about his team’s chances to clinch the second consecutive victory in the Champions League Twenty20.
After emerging as the winners in the third season of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 Premier League (IPL), the Super Kings continued the good work in the previous edition of the CLT20, sealing a comprehensive victory in the high-voltage tournament.
Going on with the winning momentum, Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led outfit won their second IPL title by beating Royal Challengers Bangalore in the recent edition of the lucrative Twenty20 league.
Since Dhoni and company has been producing excellent results in the Twenty20 version of the game over the last couple of years, the coach is hopeful that the players will come up with an equally good performance in the CLT20 2011, and secure their second
consecutive glory in the contest.
He however, rubbished the notion that complacency may emerge as an issue for the side, saying that the guys are well focused on their job and not over-confident.
"After the World Cup win, the attitude of everyone in the squad, from the captain (M.S. Dhoni) down was superb. But maybe with such players (those returning from the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 tour) we won't make them practice too long or make too much demands of them," said
Fleming who served http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 in 111 Test and 280 ODIs during his International career.
Talking about complacency, the former Kiwi skipper shared, "I think we need a bit more success before that (complacency) happens. I don't think it is much of an issue. We get together, everyone is on edge, everyone wants to prove himself. Our focus is on the
next championship."
The qualifying round of the championship kicked off with a crucial contest between Ruhuna and Trinidad & Tobago on September 19, 2011.
While the main round of the tournament will commence on September 23, 2011, Fleming’s troop is set to play its first contest against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Indians.
