I think that it counts as a complete game, but no hitters need at least nine to count.

If his team only gets 8 innings becuase they lost but he pitched the whole game it is in fact, a complete game. It's happened a few times this year.

Now for a no-hitter, it has to be at least nine innings. But a complete game can be as low as five innings. If the game gets rained out after five and only one pitcher pitched, it's considered a complete game.

Yes. all that matters is that the pitcher threw all the innings in that game. If the game was called for rain in the seventh, it is still a complete game.

Yes, it is considered a complete game. It does not matter how many innings you pitch. I remember a Marlins game that was shortened by rain to 5 innings. Dontrelle Willis pitched all 5 innings, and he got a complete game.

Yes, this happened to Jorge Campillo earlier this season against the Angels.

Pitched a complete game 8 innings, but got the loss.

Yes it counts. Ive seen Halladay lose quite a bit of 1-0 complete games while on the road that way.
