Complete loss of pregnancy symptoms but positive HPT?

I have been testing positive for 6 days. I did ivf and got my first positive at the equivalent of 9 dpo. Thurs and Fri my symptoms kicked in very strongly. My b***s swelled huge and painful with blue veins. They were so painful I couldn't walk without a bra or holding them still with my hands. My nipples turned brown and literally got bigger in two days. I was queasy and dizzy as well. Well, Saturday I noticed that my symptoms had diminished some. Sunday they had diminished even more and today I feel NOTHING! My b*****s completely deflated and are less tender than even before a period. To make it all worse I am spotting tiny amounts of brown blood. This morning my HPT was as dark as it has been for about 3 days now...not darker, just the same.

How long does it take for HCG to go from your blood to you urine?

What besides a miscarriage can cause a total loss of symptoms?

  1. Don't worry about the symptonms at all. Some people don't feel any, some have them all, some just have 1, doesn't mean you aren't pregnant anymore. When I was pregnant I went to the doc for something else and they took blood and then called me and told me. If it wasn't for that I would not have even known....

  2. Go to a doctor and see whats up...

  3. well, hcg is traceable in its peak amount on otc hpt approx. 4 days after the missed period.

you could have possibly just psyched your body out, looking so forward to being prego, you could have in fact psychologically made those symptoms. it happens quite often. a woman could be expecting her period, and it doesnt come, she could make herself get morning sickness and the whole nine yards, and still get her period within a couple of days.

where as you are still testing positive on otc hpt, that is a good sign. although, you should go to the doctors and get a blood test to make sure your hcg levels are still normal.

    good luck

  4. I’m keeping all things crossed for you but have to ask, has it been at least 10 days since your trigger shot (Ovidrel)? It takes that long to get out of your system and if it is still in your system you can get a false positive. I am not a big fan of HPT's after IVF because of this. HCG (Ovidrel) metabolizes at a half-life of one day. So if you did a 10,000 IU dose, HCG reduces by 1000 unit per day and if you have taken 10,000 units shot, it will take 10 days for the HCG to get out of your system.  If it has been over 10 days, then it’s time to do a little dance!

At 6dpt (Days past transfer)...Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood

7dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops

8dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops

9dpt...HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on

    HPT

As for the blood, I hope you have called your RE. They will probably just advise you to put your feet up until your blood test. Spotting is common and usually it is nothing to be concerned about.

Remember to stop looking into every symptom and that true pregnancy symptoms will not start until later.  Forget the dark/light HPT lines too. I have seen very pregnant women get light lines while newly pregnant women get dark ones. It all depends on the test batch.

When is your blood test? Hoping for + results!

  5. you my be at a higher risk for a miscarriage, but it hasn't happened yet... i too have had brown spotting since week four, still spotting now, but the Dr found the heartbeat on an ultrasound last weeks finally...i'm still at high risk, but am progressing.... have your doctor run a blood test, HCG every 48 hours and to check your cervix if it's opened or not....i know how u feel, and i'm so sorry u are going through this too.... good luck to you, don't lose hope just yet
