Question:

Completely clueless about tofu?

I've been a vegetarian for 18 weeks, and i recently decided to try tofu hearing it was healthy and all.

I've never made it and completely clueless.

I just got it yesterday and i was wondering if i should refrigirate it? its in the fridge now...

and how do you cook it.?

  1. Ignore them tofu will not hurt you.

    - Keep it refrigerated until you use it. Also keep any that is left over underwater in the fridge.

    - Cut a 1/2 inch slice lay it on a plate and put another plate on top of it. Place some weight like a can on this to press out the water. This is necessary so the tofu can soak up the falvors its dooked in.

    - Now cut it into 1/2 inch cubes.

    - Chop up some onions and peppers.

    - Put the: tofu, onions and peppers into a frying pan with a little veggie oil.

    - Fry on medium for about 6 to 8 minutes until the tofu starts go brown. You can add spices as your cooking it and the tofu will soak up the the flavor.


  2. yes. it needs to be refridgerated.. Cut it up into cubes. Put oil in a frying pan.. when hot put cubed tofu in pan and let cook until golden. put spices or soy sauce or whatever you want it to taste like.. It's good!

  3. your tofu is going to absorb the flavors of whatever you cook it with.  add it to asian dishes, it compliments them well.

  4. tofu does not necessarily damage your brain. it just increases your risk of becoming senile or getting Alzheimer's when youre older.  but if you dont eat it all the time then I dont think youll have a problem. this is when you eat like 2 servings a week for 40 years.

    and besides this, the benefits of tofu greatly outweigh this, since it decreases risk or cancer, osteoporosis and other diseases. To find out all about the nutritional benefits then just read the link that I posted.

    also, if you are frying tofu it does not really matter how long you cook it for since its not a meat product. just cook it until you personally find it hot enough and at the right texture for you to eat it.

  5. tofu causes brain damage...please dont eat it often...

    all soy products cause this...its proven by many doctors and a lot of vegetarians want to give this to people so they will belong to their agenda

    if they belong then the vegetarians get money

  6. Yeah you can refrigerate it but I hope you understand that tofu was nominated the number 1 gross food of 2008 in the usa!!!!
