Question:

Completely lost in life?

I have come to a point in life where i am completely lost with what seems to be no solution.

I have what may be the biggest decision to make and will most definitely impact the rest of my life. I don't feel like i have enough time to make this decision and i have no support or understanding from either my partner or family and i feel i need to have reassurance on this.

I have tried writing down my pros and cons....they balance each other out totally, and some are more important than others.

I feel completely trapped and have no where or no one to turn to.

I couldnt possibly write the content of my decision here as it would be way too long and most likely wouldnt get any answers....but it would be a great if you think you could help in some way to email me.

Has anybody ever been in this type of situation before, if so how how did you decide and what impact did it have on your life?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

  1. I know it sounds cliche', but when I have a descision to make that does not have clear answer, I ask my myself which decision I will either regret the most in 10 years.  If you can see the consequences farther down the road, sometimes it makes the choice easier.

  2. Not only should you balance out the pros and cons, but try to see what would happen if you don't do whatever you have to do as opposed to if you decide to do it.  Imagine what your life will be like if you go for it or not.  Which way do you want your life to go, how do you see it?  Do you see it with the change or without it?  What's the worse that can happen if you do it or if you don't?

Hard to find a solution if I'm not sure what it is you have to decide, but those guidelines should help.

    Good luck

  3. I was in that situation (to get married or not). In the end, I had to just have faith that the decision I made would work out.

It has worked out great and it was a gigantic impact in my life, but there is no way for me to really know if it was the better choice.

So I don't think about it and try to make the best out of the decision I made.

Heck, even if I knew wasn't the better choice, I *still* have to make the best out of the decision I made.

Frankly, I'm reaching another pivotal decision in my life (get a degree that will help my boring career or get a degree in something else, meaning a career change, pay cut, etc.)...and there is no way to know which way is the better choice. So I'm scared as h**l.

Again, I will just have to choose and make the best out of the decision.

  4. first, you must think how will your decision affect your life,... you have to think both ways and try to see the benefits and consequences and if you're prepared to face them, try writing the possible effects of both options and try to think it through,

you wouldn't want to regret and tell yourself "i should've chosen my other option",

  5. Listen to that little voice inside telling you to do it or not to do it. Most of the time, the voice is right.

  6. Sometimes you need to go backwards in life before you can make any progress forward.  It's like encountering a mountain that you cannot go across.  In such a situation you might need to go back and find your way around the mountain, instead of trying to cross the mountain head on.

Every problem has many solutions.  And sometimes you find these solutions as you go along.

To make a difficult decision, you need to know your values in life.  So that you can look at yourself in the mirror at the end of your life and be sure that you've done the best you could, and you have nothing to be ashamed of.

  7. It's within you !

I'm sure you'll make the best decision ! good luck !

  8. Toss a coin in the air..... you'll discover you know how you want it to land before it does.  Give it a try.
