Compliance Officer to give trainer an Independence Day victory in the Poker Stakes at Belmont Park
It will be a true test for, Compliance Officer and his ability as he is all set to compete in the Grade 3, $150,000 Poker Stakes at Belmont Park on 4th July, 2012, where he will cover a distance of a mile, and take on some of
the toughest runners.
The six-year-old gelding has already attracted a significant amount of attention from the market, as he will race as a favourite with a 5 to 2 chance in this event.

Entering as a high weight of 118 pounds, the runner will be eyeing the prize in this event, and will try his best to take the money home.
The son of New York, out of mare Kenneth L. Ramsey, will be running for his hat-trick in the Grade 3 event.

He previously aced the Kingston Stakes at Belmont Park on 27th May, 2012, over a distance of 1 mile, where he was mounted by rider, Javier Castellano, and defeated the C. Clement trained, Lubash.
The third place was secured by the P. Serpe trained, Street Game, who rode in the capable hands of rider, R. Dominguez.
Racing at Belmont Park will give the Bruce Brown trained runner the added advantage over the rest of the field, since he has raced here before, and will be taking on a familiar distance.
The only race that has tarnished Compliance Officer’s record is the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup, which took place at Churchill Downs on 5th November, 2011.
The gelding was mounted by jockey A. Solis, and the pair never found a strong footing, as Compliance Officer wilted to finish a dismal eleventh on the day.
Regarding this, Bruce Brown told the press that:
“This is kind of a lull in the New York-bred races, so this seemed like a good opportunity to see how he stacks up in open company, especially coming into Saratoga.”
The trainer further added: “He doesn’t know he’s a New York-bred. He had a rough go of it in the Breeders’ Cup.”
Right One, who equals Compliance Officer in weights, will be the one to threaten Compliance Officer’s run to the finish line.
The C. Clement trained, six-year-old gelding is in good form and a fight between these two runners will be fun to watch.
